In the year 2017, Yeshiva Nahora, under the leadership of the Rosh Yeshiva Rabbi Avraham Yitzchak Greenboim shlita, received many inquiries about the need to establish a framework that would match the values and path of Yeshiva Nahora for all residents of the center who do not wish to study Torah all day and also do not want boarding school, but want to combine Torah studies and matriculation studies together.
In light of repeated requests, Rabbi Greenboim enlisted Rabbi Avraham Maizlish shlita to establish a branch of Yeshiva Nahora in the city of Netanya, which was named: “Ziv Or”.
Yeshiva Nahora chose to send Rabbi Noam Greenboim shlita to serve as Rosh Hayeshiva, who had served on the pedagogical and administrative staff of Yeshiva Nahora, with the understanding and vision that Yeshiva Ziv Or would develop and operate according to Nahora’s educational philosophy and in the spirit of its founder, Rabbi Avraham Yitzchak Greenboim shlita.
Yeshiva Ziv Or in Netanya opened with a leading team of first-rate educators under the guidance of Rabbi Avraham Maizlish shlita, whose method is a positive approach with understanding and inclusion of every student. Rabbi Maizlish continues to closely accompany the yeshiva students both in conversations and in personal meetings, and serves as head of the admissions committee for Yeshiva Ziv Or Netanya.
Yeshiva Ziv Or and its staff are experienced with many years of expertise in various teaching fields, and are skilled in building students and guiding them at these ages, with faith and mission to provide an answer for every student who comes to the yeshiva’s doors.
By virtue of the yeshiva being in the Netanya area, there is a real and important need to provide an appropriate response to all French immigrants who are mostly seeking a framework that knows how to combine Torah and secular studies as customary in France, and also with a staff that knows how to handle and ease the burden of absorption in Israel. Therefore, the yeshiva recruited an educational staff that also knows how to provide answers to French immigrants and their families who arrive on the yeshiva’s doors.
The yeshiva is under the continuous supervision of its founder, Rabbi Avraham Yitzchak Greenboim, who accompanies and directs its educational and moral path at all times and closely monitors the development of the yeshiva and the progress of the students.
