Yeshiva Ziv Or Karmiel

Yeshiva Ziv Or Karmiel

Students – Students come from Haredi and religious families in the northern and central regions of Israel. They studied in Talmudei Torah and state-religious institutions (Mamlachti-Mamlachti Charedi)

Educational Staff – The Ramim are graduates of esteemed yeshivot. The teachers for general studies all have professional certification and hold academic degrees (Bachelor’s and Master’s), and continue to develop professionally through the Haredi district training programs and in-school professional development led by the Pisgah Center and the yeshiva’s educational counselor.

From the Yeshiva:

Vision – In this framework, students receive an educational environment with Torah values, combined with secondary education suited to their level and ability, alongside personal development and character building. This is infused with high-level moral and ethical values, so that when the time comes, these tools will enable them to build a faithful home based on tradition, while also gaining the ability to integrate meaningfully into the workforce and support their families with dignity.

Uniqueness – The students reside in the dormitory, where they receive guidance in communal living, social activities, incentives, and a variety extracurricular programs.

Goals:

  • Torah with Derech Eretz – A student graduating from Ziv Or will leave with either a high school matriculation certificate or a technological diploma, according to his individual ability. He will gain skills in both Torah and general learning, a positive attitude toward mitzvot and Torah values with Yirat Shamayim, readiness to build a home, and preparation for social and family life.
  • Improving matriculation eligibility – According to data, many students arrive without a basic foundation in core subjects. Therefore, we operate a reinforcement system using teachers and university students, build computer-based learning systems to aid studies with personalized guidance and student advancement, and divide classes into differentiated learning groups for each subject.
  • Spiritual and Emotional – In the spiritual domain, our aim is for students to graduate with practical tools for healthy family life, along with personal and communal responsibility. We strengthen their religious level with goals such as fixed Torah study schedules, lectures and group discussions with leading rabbis and speakers, activities covering a wide range of Torah topics relevant today, and fostering community belonging in the spirit of “Make for yourself a Rav and remove yourself from doubt.” We build a support system for graduates, including personal and marital counseling, even after completing their studies at the institution.

Ziv Or offers a Computing and IT track.
