A special emphasis is placed on filling the gaps of basic studies required upon joining the Haredi high school yeshiva. Dedicated curricula were devised for Haredi youth whose knowledge of math and English is minimal. Most institutions also conduct preparatory days and provide guidance to students who never studied those subjects.
Most yeshivas enable a choice of advanced major studies based on the students’ learning capabilities, enabling the highest possible level (5 credits) in mathematics and English. Tutoring is provided to make up for academic gaps and desirable professions are taught, including computer engineering, teleprocessing, physics, electronics, etc., and there are suitable labs and physical infrastructures for supporting general studies.

The various teachers can dedicate time to individual teaching in order to close the gaps. Many of the yeshivas offer additional programs, dedicated to this objective.
